Hypnotherapy
Hypnotic trance exists in many different forms in every day life. Sometimes it is recognized and utilized in rituals, or dance, for example, but most of the time it goes unnoticed as daydreaming or irrational fears. Many people live most of their lives in one trance or another and the job of the hypnotherapist is generally not to hypnotize them, but to de-hypnotize or wake them from the dream or trance state.
Hypnotherapy is simply the use of trance for therapeutic purposes. Traditional hypnotherapy uses commanding language, called direct suggestion. This method sometimes works, but not for everybody. Some people resist these suggestions.
I oftentimes utilize Ericksonian hypnotherapy and indirect suggestions. Indirect suggestions are much harder to resist because they are often not even recognized as suggestions by the conscious mind, since they usually disguise themselves as stories or metaphors. An example of an indirect suggestion is " and perhaps your eyes will grow tried as you listen to this story, and you will naturally want to close them, because people can, and of course experience a pleasant, deepening sense of comfort as they allow their eyes to close, and they relax deeply."
Because of my experience in wilderness and cross-cultural settings, I find my use of metaphors and reflections of nature to be more conducive to deeper and more sustained healing. I also honor everyone's right of refusal to change. As a hypnotherapist, I find it easier to go with the energetic flow of the clients I serve.
Energy is the blueprint, the infrastructure, the invisible foundation for the health of your body. Your body is composed of energy pathways and energy centers that are in a dynamic interplay with your cells, organs, moods, and thoughts. If you can shift these energies you can shift your health, emotions, state of mind, while accelerating healing.
Operating from a Transpersonal model, while combining good clinical, spiritual, shamanic and EMDR skills, I can teach people simple yet profound steps for initiating changes in their inner lives. These inner changes then manifest into healthier lives externally. A deeper purpose in life then emerges, constituting a more meaningful life overall.
