A community event to welcome two Dine' (aka) Navajo Hataałii (Medicine Men). Anderson Hoskie and Harrison Jim will provide traditional and ceremonial songs, stories and prayers and wisdom. They will be joined by local musicians, Arlyn Deva, Daniel B. and Aaron Heideman to create a drumming and didgeridoo fusion set. Kent Tompkins will moderate and share a short video piece speaking to his relationship to the land and indigenous country.
This community evening is in concert with a weekend retreat with the Hataałiis. Currently the retreat is full, and a waitlist is being accepted for future retreats.

Anderson Hoskie, and Harrison Jim, are both Dine' Hatałii, traditional medicine men as part of the Dine' Medicine Man Association. Anderson works directly with the Navajo Tribe within their Department of Health and Harrison while apprenticing with Anderson, has his own Hatałii practice, after retiring from the Indian Health Service.
Kent met them both while employed with the Nation Nation as a Clinical Specialist, directing an adolescent wilderness program, based out of Shiprock, NM. They have continued gathering and bringing healing services and cultural awareness to those that typically do no have such opportunities to have access to this form of integrative and cross-cultural assistance. |
